professional tree trimming that’s good for people and trees.
The importance of experienced tree trimming services.
There are numerous reasons why trees need to be trimmed. Sometimes it’s to open up or enhance a view, let more light into the home or garden, or improve the appearance or design aesthetics of the tree.
At times, tree trimming is necessary to remove hazardous, diseased, or damaged branches and prevent damage to people, animals and property.
Tree trimming, however, is dangerous and can result in serious injury, even death. That’s why it’s paramount that you always utilise the skills and experience of an accredited arborist and trusted tree services company for all your trimming and pruning requirements.
When done correctly, tree trimming can improve the health of a tree, prolonging its life. Pruning improves air circulation, giving leaves and branches the fresh air they need for survival and growth. It should always be done by a qualified professional who understands tree health.

Why so some tree trimming companies so cheap.
When most people are using Google to find a tree trimming company, how do you know they’re reputable and have the expertise to complete the job safely?
Did you know that the tree lopping industry is unregulated. So, that means anyone with a chainsaw can come to your home and cut down or trim your tree. They may have inadequate insurance and no expertise in tree health.
In short, when you’re employing tree loppers to cut down, trim or prune a tree, the cheapest price may mean the company is cutting corners. This could be inadequate insurance or because they’re using unqualified staff – or possibly both!
Additionally, when pruning or trimming a tree, unqualified tree loppers won’t have the expertise to ensure the health of your tree is maintained. This can lead to the integrity of the tree becoming unstable, leading to sickness and inhibiting growth. In many cases, the tree then has to be removed completely – a costly undertaking that contravenes the money you may save by accepting a cheaper quote.
Potential problems from incorrect tree trimming.
By Chris Allchin, Northern Beaches Arborist.
It is paramount that trees are trimmed correctly. Incorrect pruning can lead to poor tree health, potentially dangerous problems, and even kill the tree. Common problems from incorrect tree trimming include:
- Removing too much of a tree’s canopy can cause severe stress and shock, affecting its overall health and vitality which can lead to tree decline, even death.
- Incorrect cuts can leave large wounds or stubs that don’t heal properly and are prone to decay, rot, weakness, pests, and pathogens.
- Removing too many lower branches or improper cuts can lead to weakly attached limbs that are prone to breaking.
- Overpruning on one side can cause imbalance leading to structural weakness and the risk of the tree falling in strong winds or extended rain periods.
- Removing too much foliage affects the tree’s ability to photosynthesise. This can lead to stunted growth. Severe pruning can trigger water sprouts or suckers that drain the tree’s resources.
- Poorly executed cuts can result in a misshapen tree or permanent scars making the tree less attractive.
- Improper pruning done at the wrong time of the year can remove flower buds and reduce the tree’s ability to produce flowers or fruit and decrease productivity.
